THE BELOVED DISCIPLE
John 21:20-22
Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved, the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper and had said, “Master, who is the one who will betray you?”
When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”
Jesus said to him, “What if I want him to remain until I come? What concern is it of yours? You follow me.”
Reflection:
Mother Teresa had a “Humility List” and on it were these two points: 1) Keep busy with your own affairs, not those of others and 2) Avoid curiosity. When we find ourselves focusing on other people, places, things, and activities we lose focus of God’s will for our life. If it is not a calling, it is a distraction.
Lord, please help me keep my eyes and thoughts on you today.
